Skan was shot out of the sky with a gun and died from the resulting gunshot wound and other injuries. If your world does not have guns, imagine a handheld machine that can fire a projectile hundreds of times faster than a bow can shoot an arrow, so fast that it can easily punch a hole through metal armor.
I believe it was a Visitor who shot him, because Triton's minions did not have weaponry of any kind. They used their bodies, the natural surroundings, and magic in the fight. I scoured the network and found a Visitor who previously made posts about gunpowder and explosives by the name of Percy. I believe he may be the one responsible.
